A possible intention for dealing with diversity where equal outcomes through adaptive treatment is pursued as an end goal (Ponet, 2023). Equity also involves creating an environment in which students (and staff) with their diverse individual characteristics and competences can or may participate with equitable starting opportunities. This means that, as an educator, you are committed to recognising and addressing structural barriers and reducing initial inequalities as much as possible to ensure full participation is not hindered.
